Aurora Wings Christmas

Hi again!  Happy New Year's Eve!  The holiday season is almost over, and that makes me a little sad.  I am looking forward to the new year, but I always miss that special glow and cozy warmth that the holiday decorations give.  I guess it's no surprise then that I'll jump right into Valentine's Day when the last of the Santas and snowmen are packed away!

Before we ring in 2015, though, I have a few more Christmas cards to share.  I simply adore Mitzi's work over at Aurora Wings!  I used three of her gorgeous images to make special creations this holiday season!

First up is Mistletoe Fairy.  She is colored with Copics and cut with Classic Squares Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I used Fleur De Lis Squares Nestabilities (Spellbinders) to mat the image.  Papers are DCWV - Christmas Basics stack.  I used the Martha Stewart Icicles border punch as well as the Tim Holtz On The Edge File Tab die.  The metal Label Pull is also Tim Holtz.  Eucalyptus Stickles, flowers, bling, and a wood veneer sentiment provide the finishing touches for this card.  *Side note: I also had to use a white gel pen on her berries as I accidentally colored them red!*

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E79, R20, R43, R46, N0, G03, G05, G09, G29.

Christmas Tree Sprite was colored with Copics for Kayne's Kindergarten teacher. (We also gave him Play-Doh for the classroom as well as a gift card and homemade treats for himself!)  I stamped a Teresa Collins snowflake in Distress Ink around the edges of the image panel and heat set some Shabby White Fran-Tage.  The image is matted with Lacey Squares Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I used the current layout from Sketch n Stash (#155) for my design.  As for the stash part: those little Christmas lights have been in my embellishment box for quite some time and I was happy to have the perfect excuse to use them!  I finished with a wooden veneer sentiment.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E25, E27, R20, R32, R43, R46, RV66, N0, N2, N4, Y28, Y32, Y35, Y38, B06, G03, G05, G09, G29.

And for my small man, I used Little Santa.  The lil cutie is colored with Copics and the image panel is sponged with Old Paper Distress Ink.  Papers are My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Christmas Special Edition.  Sketch Saturday (#341) provided my layout.  I used Classic Squares Nestabilities (Spellbinders) to make the faux buckle.  Cherry Cobbler seam binding (Stampin' Up) and a Martha Stewart ornament border punch supply the rest of the details.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E25, E31, N0, N2, N4, N8, R20, R35, R37, R39, R89.

Thank you to every one of my followers for a wonderful 2014!  I'm wishing each of you a safe, healthy, bright, and happy New Year!

Christmas in Review

Hello!  Hope everyone's holiday season has been filled with all the joy and warmth of the season!  Mine was and I can't believe it's almost time to say good-bye to 2014!  But before we do, I have a little Christmas in review.

I haven't done as much crafting since the small man started Kindegarten in September, but I want to make a few special things for school.  I also wanted to give my coworkers a little something handmade for the holiday to go along with my homemade treats.

My first card features Saturated Canary's Stockings, and she was given to the Kindergarten aide.  This cutie is colored with Copics.  I used a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 (#38).  Papers are Authentique - Festive.  I added a few flowers and pieces from a cut paper straw.  The sentiment is from a There She Goes set called Holiday Additions.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E51, E55, R20, R24, R46, R89, YG93, YG95, YG97.

Next is Pixie Dust Cloud (also from Saturated Canary) done up for the holidays, but with some fun, non-traditional colors, for the lovely school secretary (who is always so kind to us and helps find older kids to walk Kayne to class if we are late).  She is colored with Copics and cut using Labels Sixteen Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  The layout is courtesy of Seems A Little Sketchy (#80).  Papers are My Mind's Eye - Merry Little Christmas.  A few flowers from my stash complete the card.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, R20, R24, R46, R81, R85, BG10, BG72, BG75, YG93.

I also made a trio of cute little chalkboard door hangers for my co-workers.  This is Molly (Saturated Canary), colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I kept the hangers simple and used the same basic layout for all three by adding some designer paper, flowers, and a wood veneer sentiment.  Papers here are My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Christmas Special Edition.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E31, E34, E51, E53, Y32, Y35, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, R24, R46, R89, N0, N2.

This is Christmas Angel (Saturated Canary).  Papers are My Mind's Eye - Christmas.

Copics used: E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E79, R20, R24, R32, R46, R89, N0, N2, N4, N6, Y28, YG91, YG93, YG95.

And finally, Holiday Shopping (The Paper Shelter).  Papers are also My Mind's Eye - Christmas.

Copics used:  E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E31, E51, E53, E55, E79, R20, R24, R32, R46, R89, N0, N2, N4, N6, Y28, YG91, YG93, YG95

I will be back in a few with some more holiday cards, all featuring the gorgeous art work of Mitzi Sato-Wiuff of Aurora Wings!

KennyK's Krafty Krew #186 - Anything Goes with a Twist: New Beginnings

A week and a half until Christmas and every creature in this house is stirring!  The small man is off the walls with excitement and Momma is busy shopping, wrapping, baking, cleaning, and I even snuck in some crafting!  I'm here to share my card for the final KennyK's Krafty Krew challenge of 2014!  As always, it's Anything Goes, but our twist this time is "New Beginnings".

Use any KennyK image to play along for your chance to win 3 images of choice, but get rewarded with 5 if you use the twist!

I opted to make a New Year's card.  My printer decided to die on me last month and this is not the time of year I can afford to replace it.  I wasn't prepared at all (I've been printing my images at Staples) for this challenge so I was forced to rummage through the archives of images printed but never used for a suitable one.  Elf Queen was there to save the day!

I colored her with Copics and added some Shabby Blue Fran-Tage to the image panel.  I used the Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics (My Favorite Things) behind it and cut the Studio G sentiment with Labels Twenty-One Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  The sketch is Sketch Saturday (#340) and the papers are Winter Wishes by Echo Park.  A few flowers add the finishing touch.

Pop over to the blog to admire the team's inspiration and then color up a KennyK image of your own to play along!  This challenge will run for four week to give you plenty of time to celebrate the holidays and get your crafting in too!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E04, E11, E21, E23, E25, E31, E79, N0, N2, V17, V20, B00, R20, R32, R43).

KennyK's Krafty Krew #185 - Anything Goes

Hello!  Popping in with a new KennyK's Krafty Krew challenge for you!  This time we're Anything Goes, anything at all, no twists involved!  And we have some fabulous prizes too!  Play along for your chance to be one of 4 winners of two KennyK Clear Stamp sets or the lucky winner of a £10 gift voucher from Crafty Ribbons!

I have been very busy with holiday shopping and decorating this weekend so I decided to go CAS white on white for this one.  I colored up On Vixen with my Copics and then embossed her with my new Snowflake Trim embossing folder (Darice).  I matted the image panel on top of another embossed one, this time using the Chevron folder (Darice).  I added a bit of Snow Writer to her fur and trim and popped up a few punched Martha Stewart snowflakes with foam squares.

The countdown is on for the holidays!  December has arrived and since this is my first Christmas card I guess I have some work cut out for me!  Maybe I'll just do photo cards again... LOL  But I do hope you'll visit the blog to see the team's fabulous makes and perhaps play along too.  REMEMBER: You MUST use a KennyK image to do so!

Have a wonderful day!

Markers used: Copics (E00, E04, E11, E21, E70, E74, E79, R00, R20, R29, YR24, YG93).
