Frost on the 4th

Happy 4th of July!  We've had a fun couple of days...  Fireworks last night with some friends and a cookout today at my brother's with my parents.  Good times!  I never had time to make any patriotic cards this year, but I do have one to share with you.  Considering it was in the 90s here today this little arctic creation was a refreshing treat!

I was, believe it or not, asked to make a card with a sexy girl hugging a penguin.  Not an easy task!  The Mayzy Art image was too cute so I had to improvise.  It seemed like the perfect time to use Helga Frost from Kenny K!  The penguin paper was in an Echo Park 6x6 pad called Winter Wishes I received as a gift at the holidays last year.  Can you say "PERFECT"?!?!  Helga is from the Steampunk Burlesque collection over at kennykdownloads and I colored her with Copics and fussy cut her.  She is popped up with foam squares on the current Sketch Saturday (#265)  The border punch is Martha Stewart (of course).  So that Helga and the Penguins (sounds like a band name!  lol) could steal the show, the only other thing I added was a few flat back pearls.  Sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

I hope your holiday was filled with family, friends, fireworks, food, and fun!  Let us never forget what a privilege it is to live in this great nation of ours, even if we're not perfect.  Thank you to all those who have given of themselves so that we can be free!  Here are some Instamoments from our celebration:

I'm off to make another card and I should have at least two to share with you this weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E23, E31, E79, R20, R81, R85, N0, N2, N4, N6, N8, V20, V25, BG0000, BG000, BG10, BG72).

{hugs}
