Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge #26 - Flowers

Well, I have been fighting with blogger for hours now, but I think I finally have the problem solved... I hope! I've followed all the tips for solving the error I keep getting, including clearing history and cookies. We'll see if it works. So while it's functional, I'm back for my second post of the day with the newest Tickled Pink Stamps challenge. Challenge #26 is all about Flowers! I opted to use some mulberry paper mini roses on my card. My image is Lil Pinkette Coraline from the very first Pinkette release. I paired her with some cupcake paper from The Sweet Stack by DCWV. The sketch is #121 from Card Patterns.

Blogger has given me an error yet again so I am going to keep this post brief in hopes of actually getting it published. If you would like to play along, and check out the other design team creations, visit the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges blog. Remember, only TPS are eligible for these challenges. They include the Lil Lads and Lil Lolitas, Lil Pinkettes, Pink Pets, and Cherie. There is also a fabulous prize and this week it's your choice of one rubber or two digital images!

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #79 - Easel Card

It's time for another Sassy Studio Designs Dare To Be Sassy Thursday challenge! This week for challenge #79 we want to see easel cards! I personally love this style card and think it presents a fabulous excuse to decorate the "inside"! This creation was a request from one of my regulars for her friend's birthday. They are both celebrating their 50th this year, and she thought a special birthday deserved a special card. I was happy to oblige.

I selected Cosmopolitan from Sassy Studio Designs as my image. She is a ton of fun to color! I added glossy accents to the drink glass for an authentic feel. Sketch #161 from Sketch Saturday provided the layout for my card front. I rotated the sketch on its side and dressed it up a bit with a Martha Stewart border punch and some Prima flowers. I also added rhinestone bling to the base/inside.

If you’d like to see what the rest of the Sassy design team has created and/or want to play along, simply visit the SSD blog here. The prize is two Sassy Studio Designs images of your choice!

Thanks for looking and have a terrific Thursday!

Card Positioning System - Sketch #224

**Gasp** I haven't worked on any cards in three whole days!!! I think I am having withdrawal! I'm also beginning to fall behind, but I wanted to get some posts finished tonight. I had a lot that were missing card supply details so I went back and filled them all in. I have a month's worth of cards to get posted to my gallery on splitcoaststampers, but that is a project for another time... I spent a lovely day off from work with my small man because his day care provider is on vacation. We slept in (11am!!!), had pancakes for brunch, ran a few errands, and went for a nice walk. He also got to sit in a couple of fire trucks! There is a station down the end of our street and as we were walking past the very nice firefighter asked us if we'd like to see them up close. Kayne was a little unsure and I didn't have a camera with me - not even my phone and that never happens - so he suggested I go get them and come back. But by the time I did they got a call just as we were returning. So no photos, but we were invited to come back any time.

This is a card I made on Sunday evening for my co-workers birthday. She likes penguins and pretty much requested one for her card. lol This cutie is called Party Penguin from Meljen's Designs. The sketch is CPS 224 from Card Positioning Systems.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you'll be back as I'll have two more cards for tomorrow! Have a fantastic evening!

The Corrosive Challenge #122 - Slippery When Wet

Close-Up Detail of Image

No, it's not a Bon Jovi CD, it's a new Corrosive Challenge! This week it's all about water! From there, how you interpret that is up to you! I decided to go the mermaid route. Using a fabulous image from this month's sponsor, Stamp Insanity, called Sirene I created a center step card! Isn't she gorgeous? I colored her with a combination of Copics and Prismacolor Art Markers and added glitter to the bauble she is holding and glossy accent to her tail. This was my first time making a center step card, but after watching a quick tutorial and one failed base attempt, I think I got the hang of it. I really liked the end result and have a feeling I'll be producing more at some point. I used plenty of elements relating to water and the ocean. From my wave patterned paper, to my punches, to the pearls - I think I really achieved a "wet" looking card! If you want some more inspiration for challenge #122, be sure to check out the rest of the creations by the design team here.

I have plenty of crafting to do today, but if weather permits I'd love to get the small man outside. First things first, though.... COFFEE! lol

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll leave a comment if you like what you see! I love getting them and each one is truly appreciated! Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!

Card Patterns 120

Hello! I am here with a quick post to enter this week's Card Patterns sketch challenge. I was so honored and excited to be chosen as one of their Super Six from last week from Sketch 119, that I just had to play along again for Sketch 120! You can view the post with my mention in it here.

This card was a request from the same friend who asked for the anniversary card last week. Maybe she's good luck for me! lol This week she had a wedding reception to go to. She described the couple as "edgy, tattooed, cool, and fun" so I thought of this Tiddly Inks image! The bride is wearing skull jewelry! It doesn't get much edgier than that!

I kept it pretty simple, using only cream and black with a touch of red. I pretty much adhered to the sketch. I do love that new Martha Stewart border punch I purchased last week. It's called Beaded Arches. And I had to add a little bling, of course.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you Sunday for The Corrosive Challenge!

Card Supplies

Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge #25 - Ribbons and Lace

Well, I did it! I got up before the sun, after only a few hours of sleep, and made my second design team card! This one is for the new challenge over at Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges! The theme this week is ribbons and lace. And yes, I somehow managed to make a semi-masculine looking card for the challenge! This is a Father's Day card for my son's paternal grandfather (a tad late, but when am I not?! lol). That set of grandparents like to frequent the casinos so I thought it would be fitting. I've used Lil Perfect Match 20s Gangster Lad Luca as my image. The sketch for challenge #147 from the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog and TPS is actually sponsoring them this week. If you'd like to see some additional inspiration from the {PINK} ladies on the sketch you'll find it here. All my embellishments are courtesy of Mr. Tim Holtz with the exception of the pearls, the ribbon, and the lace. My corner piece is actually silver toned, but the flash from the camera gave it a more golden hue.

Thanks for looking! By the time this post publishes I will be at work, but right now if I don't get moving I'm going to be late making it there! Have a lovely day and Think {Pink]!

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #78 - Color Challenge

One more day until Friday... Do you know what that means? It means it's time for another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday with Sassy Studio Designs! Challenge #78 is a color challenge - bright pink, light pink, and black. It's been a busy week so far, and tonight was the first night that I was planning to sit down to do some serious crafting. I had two design team cards to get done, but I had a good plan for both of them so I thought I was in good shape. Until my son refused to go to bed. And screamed bloody murder for what seemed like an eternity. I finally broke and went to fetch him from his crib. Two more rounds of that and he is finally asleep (for now) and only one card is completed. I will be heading off to lalaland in hopes that I can wake early enough in the morning to get the other one done and the post scheduled. You would think I'd learn about procrastination, but I never do!

My card uses an old cameo image that has since been retired, but the girl can be purchased as Happy Thanksgiving in the SSD shop, under the Sassy Holiday Collection. She looks just like the co-worker this special 50th birthday card is for so I had to use her! My layout is the sketch from MOJO196 over at Mojo Monday. I added the pennant banner for an extra element of interest and so I could put the big 5-0 on there.

Thanks for looking and hope your day is a happy one! I have a feeling mine will be spent trying to sufficiently caffeinate myself..... :)

Sassy Sponsorship: Incy Wincy Designs - Sketch

Today we have another Sassy Studio Designs sponsorship for you! It is a sketch from Incy Wincy Designs! Those of you who have been following me for a bit know how much I love sketches so I volunteered for this one right away! I was asked to make an 18th birthday card for my co-worker's daughter so I selected Denim Debbie as my image and printed her "big head" style so I could use my Nesties to just cut out her torso. She's colored with a combo of Copics and Prismacolors. Those gorgeous papers are from a K&Company pad called Madeline. I added some flowers, pearls, and punched butterflies to finish off the card.

If you want to see what the rest of the design team came up with for the sketch visit the SSD blog here! We hope you'll play along with Incy Wincy Designs challenge #99 for your chance to win 4 Sassy images of your choice!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

The Corrosive Challenge #121 - Ribbons and Bows

Hello and Happy Father's Day! Sorry for the late post, but here I am finally with my card for this week's Corrosive Challenge. For challenge #121 we'd like to see you use ribbon and bows. I decided to make a Father's day card for my dad. My son calls him "Papa" so I used a chipboard sticker from my stash. The image is one from a Whipper Snapper Designs set that reminds me of my small man so I though it would be perfect for the occasion. The layout is SSS113 from The Sweet Stop, and this week it's a sketch with a spin: a circle card. I opted to make a round easel card.

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads out there, especially mine, and to the moms who do double duty! My son is lucky that he has a grandfather like my dad, and we are spending the day at my parents' now, after having taken him out to brunch.

Thanks for taking a peek, and I'm wishing you a lovely Sunday! XX

Card Patterns 119

Yikes, talk about sneaking in under the wire! I managed to get this posted with 2 minutes to spare! I had made the card this morning, but had to work and then had my fun Friday night single-mom-without-child evening. Which basically consists of running errands that would be exponentially more difficult with a small companion tagging along. It's so sad that an exciting Friday night for me is being able to go to the craft stores, or the book store, or even Target, knowing I can browse to my heart's content and not need an arsenal of snacks and other assorted toddler distraction techniques to do so!

Anyway, on to my card... My friend at work is celebrating her first anniversary with her hubby this weekend and she asked me for a special card for him. Masculine cards are always a bit of a challenge for me and making a romantic, but manly one felt impossible until I actually sat down to work on it. I credit the sketch (119) I selected from Card Patterns for that! I was amazed at how quickly it all came together after that! My black and cream color palette courtesy of the La Creme stack by DCWV sets the tone for the card. I used two different Nestibilities dies as well as a coordinating stamp set from Gina K then added some velvet ribbon, black rhinestone flourishes, and antiqued brads from my stash. The resulting card delighted my friend! I hope her other half likes it as much!

Thanks for looking and hope you have a fabulous weekend planned!

EDIT: This card was a Super Six winner at Card Patterns! You can view the post here.

Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge #24 - Sketch

Another quick post to tell you about the new challenge over at Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges blog! This week's challenge (#24) is a sketch by our own lovely Emma! It was a lot of fun so we hope you'll play along! For my card I selected Lil Pinkette Faith, holding her banner. One of my co-workers has a young daughter who is sick so I decided to make it a Get Well card for her. I think I'll let my other co-workers sign it as well and maybe I'll pick up a little toy to accompany it. I've never met her, but as a mom it breaks my heart to think about how they all must feel and what they must be going through!

Those pretty papers are from a pad called Ancestry.com by K&Company. After I added some lace, pearls, and flowers from my stash I think the resulting card is sweetly vintage.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you'll leave a comment to say "hello"! This has been a busy week! It's already Thursday, and I find myself behind in my card making yet again. With 2 orders due tomorrow I think we all know what I'll be doing tonight. Plus Father's Day is Sunday and you don't think I've started on those, do you?! Of course not! lol

Have a fabulous day and happy crafting!! XX

Tickled Pink Stamps and Cute Card Thursday

Hey, crafty bloggers! I am just stopping by with a quick post to tell you about a fabulous challenge blog that Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring this week.... It's called Cute Card Thursday and their challenge this week (#169) is a color one. They would like you to use the colors of your birthstone(s). I have used Lil Pinkette August, because appropriately enough, I was born in August, and my birthstone is Peridot (green). I thought MOJO195 over at Mojo Monday was a wonderful sketch so I went with it for this card. If you would like to see what the other {PINK} Ladies who played along came up with, visit the Tickled Pink Stamps blog here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day! XX

Lil Tom Boyz Pinkette Collection Blog Hop Release

Yippeee! It is finally time for the Lil Tom Boyz Pinkette collection from Tickled Pink Stamps to be released! And in honor of that the design team has a blog hop for you. Here are the details:

Start: June 13, 2011
Finish: June 16, 2011
Winners announced : June 17, 2011

I am the last stop on the tour so if you came from Bron's blog, you are on the right track! If not, go back to the beginning with the lovely and talented Amy to make sure you don't miss a thing! When you're done, pop over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog and leave a comment. You know that for Kellie it's not a release unless there are prizes and commenting is how you become eligible for those fabulous goodies! Comments are always welcome on the design team members' blogs as well.... Show them some love when you can! The TPS store is currently down for maintenance, but it will be back up in a couple of days with the Lil Tom Boyz Pinkettes available for purchase as both rubber and digis! June has been declared "Digi Month" at Tickled Pink Stamps so you have until the end of the month to buy all your favorite TPS images as downloads for some instant gratification!

For my release day project I chose Lil Tom Boyz Pinkette Worker August. This is a Father's Day card that I like to call "Like Father, Like Daughter". I used some cork and also a paint swatch which I pilfered from my local Lowe's Home Improvement store. It was hard not to "girlie" it up with bling and flowers and such, but since it's for a dad I showed some restraint to keep it as masculine looking as I could.

Thanks for stopping by.... Happy Hopping! XX

Preview Day Four with Lil Tom Boyz Pinkette Bobbi

It's Day Four of the previews of Tickled Pink Stamps' new Lil Tom Boyz Pinkette collection! It's also time for a new TPS challenge! So I've combined the two and made a card featuring new image Truckie Bobbi and using texture for challenge #23. You can't really tell from my photo, but the diamond plate designer paper is embossed. I also added denim fabric from an old pair of my son's jeans. He had outgrown them and they had holes in the knees so I couldn't give them to anyone else. But they were perfect for my creation! I also used the snap as my flower center. I love recycling!

SO back to Bobbie... Isn't she a sweetie?! She also has some holes in her jeans that have been patched. She has her toy truck, and she is ready to go places! And of course, YOU'LL want to go to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog so you can see the other wonderful projects the design team has created for the preview! And if you leave a comment there you'll be eligible to win Bobbie for yourself!

My layout is courtesy of Tuesday Morning Sketches (Sketch #97). It was a fun one to work with!

I hope everyone has a fabulous day! It's supposed to be close to 100 degrees here and humid so I'll be trying to stay cool. Thank goodness I can go from air conditioned apartment to air conditioned car to air conditioned office and then vice versa! :) Let's just hope the thunderstorms they are predicting today are nothing like the crazy storms we got hit with a week ago!

Thanks for taking a peek and happy crafting!

Preview Day Three with Lil Tom Boyz Pinkette August

Welcome to day three of Tickled Pink Stamps' Lil Tom Boyz Pinkette previews... Today we have sweet August for you! She is too busy wood-working to be worried about playing house! Look at the pencil tucked into her hair? Isn't she just darling? As you can tell, I do have a particular fondness for this Pinkette. Maybe it's because her name is my birth month. Or perhaps she reminds me of my younger self. And though I'm not skilled with hammer, nail or saw, I do use tools of a different sort to create when I'm crafting.

You will want to make sure to get over to the TPS blog to check out all the other preview creations from the amazing Pink and Pinkette ladies! As always, Kellie has a fabulous giveaway and all you have to do it leave a comment over there to be eligible.

For my card, I started with SSSC120 from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge as my base design. I've had the paper in my stash for a while now and knew it was perfect. It was interesting trying to create a "pretty" card that wasn't overly "girlie". The measuring tape ribbon I snagged from one of the chain craft stores that I frequent (there are 3 in my area, all of which I can hit on the way from work to home. Dangerous! lol). Somewhere along the way I decided that real sandpaper would be a fantastic idea so I used my Classic Circle Nesties to cut them from a Tim Holtz refill for his sanding block. A few flowers, a little bit of lace and a touch of bling later and I was done.

As always, thanks for looking! I hope you will leave a comment so I know you have visited. I do love and appreciate each and every one of them! I hope you enjoy your day.... It's going to be a hot one here with temperatures in the 90s (and they are saying it could reach 100 tomorrow! Not typical for New England in June.). Some people like this weather, but I'll be enjoying the AC, thank you! :) Until next time... Happy crafting!

Preview Day Two with Lil Tom Boyz Pinkette Faith

I am pleased as punch to be back with Day Two of Tickled Pink Stamps' Lil Tom Boyz Pinkette preview. Today we are showcasing rough and tumble, cutie patootie Faith. She'd rather play in the mud than play with make-up. There are six images total in this release, and trust me when I say you aren't going to want to miss any of them! Kellie at TPS and artist Stephanie Corfee have really outdone themselves!

My layout is based on SS-158 from Sketch Saturday. I printed off a vintage recipe card that I found on-line and layered it with Red Riding Hood and Very Vanilla card stock for the layer behind my image. I thought Faith would want to share her recipe for Mud Piez with you! :) And the little wooden rolling pin was a Michaels purchase picked up with this card in mind.

Be sure to visit the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to see what wonderful creations the rest of the design team has cooked up with Faith... And leave a comment there for a chance to win Faith for yourself!

Thanks for taking a peek! Have a wonderful day!

Preview Day One with Lil Pinkette Tom Boyz Coraline

Oh, BOY, am I excited!!! "Why" you ask... Well, the answer to that question is two part. First, I am thrilled to announce that I have been chosen as one of the design team members for the new Pinkette design team at Tickled Pink Stamps!!! I was over the moon when I found out and my excitement has not abated as we prepare for a blog hop and a new release on June 12th here (June 13th in Australia, where TPS is located). You can view the announcement about the new design team here. I am honored for the opportunity to work with the talented ladies who are my teammates! Be sure to visit them as well, with love and congratulations!

The other reason for my excitement is the fabulous images that I get to play with! Just wait until you see them all and you will understand! And I am beyond happy to be able to share them with you... Today is preview #1, and it gives me pleasure to introduce to you a new Pinkette collection called Tom Boyz. This for all those girls out there who would rather muddy it up in the sand box than play with a doll. Here we have Coraline; she has decided her play time will involve rounding up some bugs. Isn't she adorable? I've had that lady bug paper in my stash for a few months and knew as soon as I saw her that I was going to have to use it! My sketch is based on SSS111 from The Sweet Stop.

Of course, you'll want to pop on over to the TPS blog to see the rest of the design team members' marvelous creations! And be sure to stop back throughout the week as I am hoping to have a new sneak peek for you each day as we countdown to the release.

Thanks for taking a look, and I hope your day is fabulous!

The Corrosive Challenge #119 - Summer Colours

Sunday brings with it a new Corrosive Challenge! Yup, it's that time again! This week, challenge #119 is to use Summer Colors in your project. Though Summer won't officially start here until a few more weeks, we've already had days that have felt like it's arrived. Soon enough we will be running through sprinklers and chasing after ice cream trucks...

For my card, I used a image from one of our two sponsors for the month of June. This is Well Wishers from Paper Pretties. They sell a combination of digital and rubber stamps. Mine is a digi that was generously provided to the design team. I colored it with Copics and Prismacolor Art Markers. The patterned paper is The Pets stack from DCWV. My sketch is #62 from Sketch n Stash. It is my first time playing along on this blog, and if all their challenges are this fun it definitely won't be the last! For the "stash" part, I am supposed to list what I used that was new and/or from my stash. Here my image is new and the paper, flowers, and ric rac are all from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back as this week will be full of sneak peeks! Enjoy your day!

Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge #22

Hello everyone! Sorry for the late post on this one today. A lingering sore throat, those massive storms yesterday and too much to do with too little time seem to have gotten me all fouled up! But here I am, none-the-less, with my Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge for the week! This week - Anything Goes!!!! So as long as you use one of the TPS lines (Lil Lolitas and Lil Lads, Pinkettes, Pink Pets, or Cherrie, all found here) you can let your imagination roam wild and free on this one! I opted to incorporate sketch #37 from CLP into my creation. And it is being sponsored by Tickled Pink Stamps this month, as a matter of fact! Also being sponsored by TPS is Paper Sundaes. Their challenge #71 is Vintage/Shabby Chic. So I'll play along there as well. My image is Lil Allsorts Fairy Kira, and I just think she is amazing - so full of sass! This is my second card using her, and I have a feeling there will be more!

I am going to keep this one short and sweet so maybe I can get to bed at a decent hour tonight... lol Thanks for taking a peek and I hope that you'll join in the fun over at the TPS challenge blog for your chance to win 1 rubber stamp OR 2 digital stamps of your choice! Happy crafting!

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #75 - No Patterned Paper

It's Thursday which means another Sassy Studio Designs Dare To Be Sassy Thursday! Challenge #75 says NO patterned paper allowed! I nearly had a panic attack when I saw this! No designer paper with pretty color coordinated prints to help me with the creation of my card?! What was I going to do? So I thought back to what I used before I had a burgeoning stash of patterned paper and decided background stamps and dry embossing were the way to go. My image is Goldilocks Honey from Sassy Studio Designs' Fairy Tale collection. Isn't she sweet (and sassy)?! I used the "fancy" version of this week's priscillastyles Midnight Madness sketch (MMSC106) as my starting point and went from there. I have to say, it was kind of refreshing to go without the designer paper for once. Not that I'll make a habit of this, of course... lol But it's nice to know I can still do it!

If you'd like to play along for your chance to win two Sassy Studio Designs images of your choice, all you have to do is link your project here before next Wednesday evening. We will also be using the DTBST challenges to select our monthly guest designers going forward. If you would like to be considered simply use a SSD image to create your project and add "GDT" after your name when you link it. The winner will be chosen after the completion of the 3rd weekly challenge. We hope to see lots of you participating! Happy crafting!

Thanks for stopping by! Have an amazing day!
